The Ultimate Guide to Perfect DTF Prints

Whether you are a beginner or a pro, here is everything you need to know to master your DTF prints.

Step 1

Resolution: The Key to Sharpness

The resolution of your artwork is the single most important factor for print quality. Digital printing consists of tiny dots; the more dots per area, the sharper the image.

Recommendation: We require artwork to be at least 300 PPI (DPI).

⚠ Important for Canva Users: By default, Canva exports at 72 DPI (low quality).
The Fix: Export your design as a "High-Quality PDF" or increase download settings before converting to PNG.

Step 2

Colour Management: Accuracy vs. Vibrancy

Screens (RGB): Use light. Printers (CMYK): Use ink.

Some neon colors on your phone cannot be perfectly replicated in print. However, our advanced RIP software minimizes color shifts.

Test It: If color accuracy is critical, order our Premium Sample Pack to see exactly how colors translate to fabric.

Step 3

Backgrounds & Transparency

Does DTF print the background? Yes.

If your image has a white box behind the logo, that white box WILL be printed.

The Solution: Ensure your artwork has a transparent background. Uploading in PNG format is the standard way to preserve transparency.

Step 4

Blends and Halftones

DTF cannot print "partial transparency" like a standard inkjet printer. To fade images into the shirt color, we use Halftoning.

Halftoning breaks an image into tiny dots. This allows for softer feels and seamless gradients.
